Workshop on Guidebook and Curriculum on Laos Economic Integration into Global and Regional Economy and Workshop on Dissemination for Lao Services Portal (LSP) took place on 31 July 2018, at the meeting room of Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The workshop was chaired by Mr. Saysana Sayakone, Director General of Department of Foreign Trade Policy, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and actively attended by more than 150 invited guests from relevant sectors.
The overall objectives of the workshop are to disseminate information on economic integration forum at global and regional levels of Lao PDR, especially under the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework, and Asean Economic Community (AEC), through the use of Guidebook and Curriculum on Laos Economic Integration at Global and Regional Economy. Furthermore, the workshop also demonstrates how to access LSP, which is aiming to facilitate both domestic and foreign businessmen and investors to access the necessary information, particularly all relevant laws and regulations for their investment in services sectors in Lao PDR.
The workshop was led by several lecturers from Department of Foreign Trade Policy, Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as Department of Investment Promotion, Ministry of Planning and Investment, on the following topics: Pre and Post of Lao PDR’s Accession to the WTO, the Progression and Preparation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2025, the Opening of ASEAN Markets, the Opportunities and Obligations of Lao PDR, Liberalization of Trade in Services, and the Demonstration on How to Access LSP.
Overall, the participants were fully involved in knowledge exchange, they raised various questions to discuss with lecturer actively.
