The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sirisamphanh Vorachith, Director General of the Department of Planning and Cooperation, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, with 60 distinguished guests from world bank task team, department of foreign affair and trade’s representatives, and all implementing agencies of the LCT project.

The 1st Project Review Committee Meeting for Lao PDR Competitiveness and Trade Project (LCT) took place on 18 June 2019, at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Vientiane Capital. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Sirisamphanh Vorachith, Director General of the Department of Planning and Cooperation, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, with 60 distinguished guests from world bank task team, department of foreign affair and trade’s representatives, and all implementing agencies of the LCT project.

The primary purpose of this meeting was to review the project progress since its launch at the beginning of 2019 and to discuss on the key priorities to be archived for the second half of 2019.

Mr. Sirisamphanh said that LCT Project is designed to support our government’s priorities in trade and private sector development. Particularly, the project aims to simplify business regulations, to lower trade costs, and to upgrade firm-level competitiveness.

He also pointed that we are fully aware of our responsibility to monitor and assess our project performance, to learn lessons, and to put the lessons coming out from our review meeting as well as project implementation support mission conducted by co-financing donors.
